Time Stamp Video Overlay

It might seem like a small thing, but those little numbers showing the time are so important for video surveillance. You’ll want to know the time of a recording, and you’ll want it in a place that even a professional video editor will have a hard time removing.

In addition to time stamps, you’ll want to look for cameras that include frame count overlay for an added layer of security. Frame count shows the actual frame number, and the frame numbers always count up by one. If you see the frame count skip a number, you’ll know to be suspicious of surveillance tampering. If someone were to hack the time on the camera, they will not be able to hack the frame count.  If you are missing frames, you’ll know you are missing footage. Tell your employees that they cannot tamper with the surveillance recordings without you knowing it.
